Sat 20th March - Bristol Rovers

Bristol Rovers at home looked a like one of the easier games left to play and at half time I had already added on another three points.

A first minute Rammell goal and a Cramb penalty had the mighty ones well in control of a game they should have gone on to win with ease. The fact that we didn’t was really disappointing and could well prove costly when we put the calculators down on the eighth evening in May.

It’s pretty certain that the sloppy goals frittered away in a desperately tired second half have set the alarm bells ringing again. To throw a two goal lead away, regain the lead and blow it again in the last minute will be a bitter pill to swallow and the way in which the final goal came means we’re trying to swallow cream crackers without water.

Injury time goals are bad enough but when it’s a rebound off your keepers clearance that goes straight in you get the feeling it wasn’t supposed to be your day.

On the scoring front Cramb nearly started a riot as in notching his first goal against his employers arch rivals he decided to let the Rovers fans know how pleased he was. The Rovers fans weren’t at all happy and it got a bit tasty for a while. Sanity soon prevailed though and the visiting fans soon returned to their tractors(or do I mean seats ?).

The proverbial pain in the arse that is Jamie Cureton bagged all three Rovers goals and his continual scoring against the good guys is really irritating me now. A modern day Keith Cassells.
