Wed 17th March

It finally sunk in at around 9:30 this morning.

I was OK until then but the realisation that the dream had again turned into a nightmare began to hit home. I wasn’t devastated this time but I still felt pretty numb. That penalty miss was, in the end, as expensive as they come and the one problem with cup football is that you can’t go out and put it right next Saturday.

On the positive side we now have eleven games and thirty three points to go at. Three wins would certainly see us in the play offs but following the latest WFC balls up we really ought to be aiming for automatic promotion. Maybe, just maybe, we lost the battle last night but our win on Saturday could prove to be the difference in winning the war.

Going for the play offs leaves a little too much to chance for a battle scarred Saddler.
